Description

Painted in 2010 when I used to run an evening life class primarily for painters. After a few short warm-up poses, the model would take up a position that would be held during the whole of the 2 hours or so remaining–the models position would be marked with chalk for breaks. The painting would benefit or suffer from this ala prima constraint: Remarkably no improvement seemed possible after the event, so paintings either worked or, as often happens, were painted over and the canvas recycled.
