Sketched from the fields at the back of Sprytown, above the section of the Lyd Valley where the old railway line to Lifton ran along the edge of the flood plain at the foot of Hartley Wood. The view is looking East and captures Brentor in the top left-hand corner and the River Lyd in the bottom right.
